You can use Skindr while you are travelling, and your dermatologist can give you a treatment plan that also works outside Belgium. If you live outside Belgium, there are a few things you should know before you start.
Travelling
Tell your dermatologist where you are. They will send you your treatment plan as a PDF. It can also be used outside Belgium.
Ask for it before you leave, not at a pharmacy counter abroad. It takes you a minute and saves you a difficult conversation in another language.
If the timing allows, it is often easier to collect your medication in Belgium before you go. You can print the barcode of your prescription yourself. Read "Look up and print your prescription yourself".
If you live outside Belgium
Skindr works with accredited Belgian dermatologists, and they write Belgian prescriptions. An electronic Belgian prescription only works in Belgium, because it is stored on your Belgian eID.
A paper Belgian prescription is not accepted everywhere either. Pharmacies in the Netherlands sometimes refuse medication from a prescriber outside their country, and reimbursement through your own national system usually does not work.
What this means in practice
Skindr can give you a diagnosis and a treatment plan wherever you live. Getting the medication in your hands is the part that depends on your country.
