For pharmacists: helping a Skindr patient

What pharmacists need to get a missing Skindr prescription resolved.

Do you have a patient at your counter with a Skindr prescription that you cannot find? We are happy to help, but there is one piece of information we need.

We can only look up a file using the email address

The email address used to create the consultation is the only key we can use. Searching by name too often returns nothing, and we do not search by national register number, for privacy reasons.

What you can do

Ask the patient to contact us themselves at [email protected] using that address. Or ask for the address and send it to us with the patient's consent.

We will then check the prescription and ask the dermatologist to place it on the eID again if necessary.

The patient does not have to pay for a new consultation to fix an administrative problem.

Two things that often explain it

The consultation was created by someone else. Often a parent or partner. The prescription is on the patient's eID, but all communication goes through the other person's account. The patient may therefore not know the address we need.

There is an error in the national register number. If the number in the file is incorrect, the prescription does exist but is not linked to the patient, and your search finds nothing.

What the patient can try in the meantime

Ask the patient to log in to mijngezondheid.be and check whether the prescription is listed there. If it is, they can print the barcode and you can dispense using it. This is usually faster than waiting for us.

Substitutions

If the prescribed product is not available and a generic equivalent exists, you can substitute it as you normally would.

If there is no comparable product, ask the patient to let us know through the consultation, so that the dermatologist can prescribe an alternative.
