Your data and privacy at Skindr

What happens to your photos and medical data, why we never send medical info by email, and how to request your record.

Your photos and medical data are only used by your dermatologist to determine your advice. They are never published and never used for anything else.

As part of your medical record, we store them on secure servers in a controlled environment, in line with the GDPR. Your record is not shared with anyone who is not permitted access.

Why we prefer not to receive medical info by email

This is why we ask you to upload photos and results in your consultation rather than emailing them, and why your treatment plan never arrives as an email attachment.

Email is not a secure channel. Anything medical that arrives by email sits outside your record. Your dermatologist cannot make proper use of it, and it is not stored the way medical data must be stored.

If you have sent medical info by email anyway, we ask you to send it again through your consultation.

Your record builds up over time

Each consultation adds something to it. At a follow-up, your dermatologist can see what you were previously treated for and how you responded, which makes the assessment better. Your treatment plans remain available in the app.

Requesting or deleting your record

Both start the same way. Email [email protected] with the email address of your account and tell us what you would like.

For deletion, please also read “Deleting my account”, because medical data is subject to a legal retention period.

The full details are in the terms and conditions and the privacy policy.
