Do I choose my own dermatologist?

How your file is assigned, how to go back to the same dermatologist, including for a follow-up.

You do not choose which dermatologist reviews your file when you book. We assign it to whoever can get to it the fastest, and that is exactly what keeps response times short.

Going back to the same dermatologist

For a new consultation

Start a new consultation and mention the name in your description. We will then assign your file internally to that dermatologist. If they are away for a while, we will let you know rather than leave your file waiting. After that, the choice is yours: wait for your regular dermatologist, or be helped sooner by a colleague.

For a follow-up

A follow-up is booked directly in the app with the same dermatologist. If they are away at that moment, you will see a message about it. If you tap "Ok, it may take a little longer", nothing changes on your screen. That is normal, because your dermatologist is not available at that moment.

Try booking your follow-up again later, or book it now with another Skindr dermatologist. They will see your full file, as you can read below.

Your history follows you either way

Your medical file builds up across your consultations. Even a dermatologist who is new to you can see what you were treated for before, what worked and what did not.

Continuity therefore does not depend on getting the same person. It depends on your file, and that stays with you.

Who the Skindr dermatologists are

They are accredited Belgian dermatologists. Most of them also have their own practice or work in a hospital. They are not GPs and it is not an algorithm either: your consultation is handled by a dermatologist.

The dermatologist who handles your consultation personally reviews your photos and your questionnaire and writes your treatment plan themselves. You do not receive an automatically generated reply.

Skindr also works with medical assistants. They answer follow-up questions after your dermatologist's advice and arrange the right next steps.
