Can I visit in person or have a video call?

Skindr works entirely online, based on your photos. Why that is, and what happens if a physical examination turns out to be necessary.

Skindr works entirely online, based on your photos and your description. This means there is no Skindr location you can visit, and there are no video consultations.

Why we work this way

Waiting times to see a dermatologist in Belgium can run to several months. Because your dermatologist reviews your file rather than fitting you into a diary, you do not need to take time off work or wait for a slot to become available.

It also means you can send your photos at midnight, if that is when you have ten quiet minutes.

Your dermatologist can call you

If something in your file needs to be checked, your dermatologist may call you. That decision is up to your dermatologist. You cannot book such a call.

Everything else goes through the chat in your consultation. That way, your questions and answers stay together with your photos.

If a physical examination is needed

In around 95% of cases, your photos are enough for a diagnosis and a treatment plan.

If they are not, your dermatologist will refer you on. This can be to a Skindr partner location near you, or, with a referral letter, to a dermatologist of your choice.

Read ‘What if my skin problem cannot be assessed online?’ to find out what happens to your payment in that case.
