We cannot provide a certificate with NIHDI codes. That deserves some explanation.
NIHDI nomenclature codes exist for medical services that the statutory system recognises and prices. There is no nomenclature for a digital dermatology consultation, so there is no code to put on a document. We are not withholding it: the code does not exist.
What you do receive
Your proof of consultation, which you download from your Skindr account after your consultation, and the proof of payment that was attached to your payment confirmation. Your proof of payment shows the amount, the date and the payment reference. These are the documents we can provide.
What that means for your claim
If your insurer explicitly asks for NIHDI codes, they will not reimburse this consultation. We would rather tell you now than have you submit a claim and wait weeks for a refusal.
This is not the case with every insurer. DKV reimburses a consultation with Skindr according to the terms of your policy. Read "Reimbursement via DKV Nova". Other outpatient policies also often accept our documents, so it is worth checking exactly what cover you have. Read "Reimbursement via your hospitalisation or outpatient insurance".
What you can let us know
If your insurer refused for this reason, please tell us which insurer it was. We are in talks with insurers about cover for online dermatology, and specific refusals are useful in those discussions.
