A follow-up is a new consultation and is therefore chargeable again. Your dermatologist then reassesses your situation and checks whether your treatment plan needs to be adjusted.
What is included in your first consultation?
During your first consultation, your dermatologist reviews your photos and questionnaire, and you receive personal advice and a treatment plan.
As long as your consultation remains open, you can ask additional questions or ask for clarification without paying again.
When is a follow-up needed?
A follow-up is intended for a new assessment of the same skin complaint. For example when:
your complaint has improved, but has not yet gone away
your complaint comes back after your treatment has stopped
your skin reacts differently than expected and you need a new assessment
your dermatologist has asked you to come back later
there are new photos or information that need to be reassessed
Your dermatologist compares the new information with your previous consultation.
What is the difference from an ordinary follow-up question?
A brief clarification about advice you have already received is not a follow-up, as long as your consultation is still open.
If your consultation has already been closed and you would like to continue with the same question, reopening it can sometimes be enough. Read ‘My consultation has been closed, but my question has not been answered’.
When do you not need a follow-up?
If your skin complaint has cleared up and you have no further questions, you do not need to book a follow-up.
A follow-up is also not needed when only an administrative change has to be made, for example to a document. Please contact our support team for this.
